"Joshua Phoenix talks CTO, NAH, and More"

TMZ : Joshua Phoenix, it’s nice to have you here today, how are you doing?

Joshua : I’m doing good but, I’m focused. I got a lot of big matches coming up to end the year out so, I’m just training and learning from the losses I took earlier this year...How are you?

TMZ : I’m doing good, and yes, I know you have a lot going on coming to the end of the year and even the beginning of 2019. So let’s talk about that! King of New York. A lot of big competitors and legends and rising stars in that. What sets you apart from them and will essentially give you the title of being “King of New York”?

Joshua : What sets me a part from them? Damn, I gotta really think on this cause it’s like this; there’s so many big names and legends like you said. I mean you got the return of Barnett who is also my first round match. So out the gate, I have to face a legend. So there’s that but, if I had to say what sets me apart, I guess ima' man with nothing to lose. These guys wanna be King Of New York, so I have to be the King Of New York. There’s is no way around that. Think how long I been in this and all the opportunities I was given....and everything I’ve done, I’ve given this business classic after classic, too many five stars to count on my hands. But none of it benefited me. But this time, this is my moment and I’m gonna win because this might be it for me.

This is where I prove to my lil' boy if you work hard enough, you can do anything. So believe me when I say I will be your King of New York. Cause I’ll be damned if I come home a loser again.

TMZ : Now just now, you mentioned this might be it for you, does this mean you’re hanging up the boots? Cause around the corner with King of New York, you have the final installment of CTO with Midnight Madness. And your opponent for that is a legend in the company and rising star already in Valor, Kendrick Santana aka, Kidd Gucci or now called Ricardo Makaveli.

Joshua : I don’t wanna hang up my boots but I’ve dealt with a lot of back problems in my career. So it’s not up to me cause, I wanna be around as long as possible. But i also don’t wanna endanger hurting myself more and making it worse. But we’ll see and you said Gucci a legend?

He’s a legend to y’all? In CTO, the boy had it easy....who did he compete with that’s near the same status as me? Where’s his classics compared to mine hmmm?

Gucci knows why he wants me on his show, he needs a good match and he got just the man to give him that. But I’m taking the title from him! All gimmicks aside, I don’t like Gucci and probably never will because, he is not a wrestler nor will he ever be. The boy should stick to bachelor shows and commercials and leave the wrestling to us professionals.

TMZ : So do you believe everything was handed to him in CTO?

Joshua : Naw he earned it, I’m not saying that at all. Did he work as hard as the rest of us? ...Fuck no! But he did what he had to do, I ain’t knocking that man on his success. It’s just levels to this. I started from the absolute bottom and created lanes for myself when there wasn’t any.

TMZ : Well, is there anything you’d like to say to Kendrick before your guys’s big match coming up?

Joshua : Just come to wrestle, or it’s gon' be a long night and a horrible way to end CTO if he shows up playing.

TMZ : Moving on, let’s talk about Valor vs NAH! More importantly, the return of NAH!

Joshua : It’s crazy, I remember winning the NAH championship and not knowing the show ended until I seen everyone gathered around a cake...I def' wasn’t happy at at all but now, all of of a sudden Frisco announces the return of NAH! Where I’m the heavyweight champion and the leader of the most dominant faction in wrestling history....The same faction Frisco turned his back on to join the big brand. But look how that turned out.

Make things even sweeter, he hates that I’m NAH champion and can’t do shit about it. Karma a bitch isn’t it?

TMZ : Well if he doesn’t like you as champion, you must think he has some obstacles coming your way. Especially with the new people who could be bringing in. Or even some old contenders you must have faced before.

Joshua : Frisco knows it’s gonna take a lot to get rid of me....I’m the biggest threat on his show or any show. There’s a reason I’m one of the most sought after superstars in this business because I’m amazing at what I do. So, I welcome all the obstacles he wants to throw at me.

TMZ : Well, one obstacle might just be Valor. Over the past weeks or so, we’ve seen men and women talk about this. We already have contenders, ready to fight for their brand and take on any challenges that comes in their way. What do you have offer and if you could pick someone to go against from Valor, who would it be?

Joshua : I’m not in this...I might be NAH champion but I don’t represent that show at all. I don't care how much Frisco begs me.....I’m not helping him or anyone. If it doesn’t benefit me or my faction, then I could care less. But, if I had to fight anyone on Valor, then it’s Maxwell Verdi. Dude is the best man on Valor and I’m the best everywhere I'm booked so, it’s only right. Plus, who wouldn’t wanna see champion vs champion match? But Max wants to fight Joey Turner so, I don’t care for this event or either brand at this point...For me, it’s a night off.

TMZ : You brought of your faction, explain more about your faction and who it consists of for the people who might not know. And what and your faction has done and will do in NAH once it returns.

Joshua : My faction is being completely reborn....Only because everyone I once had has to prove themselves worthy again. Frisco ran the Delegation into the ground after he turned his back on us. But now, I’m the leader and I will do right by my people. So my new brothers and sister will be revealed when the time is right.

TMZ : Well, you have a lot on you plate with the remainder of the year and coming up. But I must ask, what’s next after that. You’re at the peak of your career, you’re doing everything and anything in wrestling, but there must be more you want. So what next for you? New companies to be in? New people to face? New championships to claim?

Joshua : I ask myself the same thing....What haven’t I done yet? What will my body allow me to do? But as long as I can move, I will wrestle until my body tells me to stop. I’m open to all new competitors and even rematches. I’m also up to bookings that respect my status in this business and don’t waste my time, then we all good. But I’ll let the people decide my fate going forward. if they want more Phoenix, then all they gotta' do is ask. And they shall get what they want.

TMZ : We're about to wrap up here, is there any last remarks you like to make to your fans, superstars or anyone?
